The Problem We have Addressed

Customer User Profile details are cumbersome for the user and quickly become out of date with no way for the user to edit them after registration because WooCommerce does not include edit User Profile capabilities on the front end and neither does WordPress.

The WooCommerce setting “Register using the email address for the username” is extremely useful for eCommerce stores as it doesn’t require the user to remember another, redundant, username, just their email address. But, using this setting creates a situation where email address and username are not synchronized and it is then impossible for the user to update that email address / username from the front-end.

Our plugin solves this problem.

What it does

Once installed, our plugin gives your customers the ability to edit their User Profile information right from the My Accounts page on the front-end. Name, Last Name, Email address will now be editable in the the same way that the Billing and Shipping Addresses are. There is no admin settings screen, as there are no settings to customize.

If you’re using ‘Register using the email address for the username’ our plugin will automatically update the username to reflect a change in the user’s email address. No more old email addresses as the customer’s username! # That makes this plugin an essential add-on to the awesome ‘Register using the email address for the username’ WooCommerce setting.

You can also use custom User fields to capture much deeper and more valuable information about your store customers from within the My Accounts page in WooCommerce.##

Couple Notes

This plugin does not edit or sync with the First Name, Last Name, Email Address of the Billing Address. This is a great feature so that the the details of whomever is paying for the order are kept separate from the actual User Profile owner details. These details can change and update to reflect whoever the customer stipulates is paying for the Order which may be, and often are, separate from the profile owner.

Future Roadmap for This Plugin

• Easily add fields to the Customer User Profile in Admin with Advanced Custom Fields plugin (ACF) and choose whether these display on the Registration sections and the My Account page or both.

# The Username is displayed to the customer on the My Accounts page, emails they receive in communications from the store, the password reset email, and anywhere else in WordPress.
## Currently extra fields are added to the User Profile programmatically ie: by editing the PHP of the My Accounts page and Edit User Profile page which is described in the documentation.
